Jaime F. Villas da Rocha, PhD

Founding co-director and researcher

Jaime F. Villas da Rocha is the co-founder of the Interdisciplinary Center for the Unknown. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a Master’s degree and a PhD in Theoretical Astrophysics from the National Observatory of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the field of Cosmology and Epistemology of Science and a visiting research fellowship in the field of Cosmology and Astrobiology at the Graduate Program in Physics at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Currently, he is a researcher and professor of the Physics Department at the Biosciences Institute, Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
