Carlos Rufin, PhD


Carlos Rufin has a deep commitment to the development of regenerative and equitable cities, combining teaching, research, and practice in the pursuit of his vision for a vibrant urban future. After many engagements with private and public actors in the energy sector as well as several books and numerous academic publications exploring institutional forms and changes, he is looking to work on the development of new kinds of governance that will release the potential of decentralized, participatory, accessible and sustainable urban energy and water systems. In addition to his position at Suffolk University Boston, he is a Senior Associate at the Institute for International Urban Development, and has a PhD in Public Policy from Harvard University.
